Matthew 18:2-4
King James Version
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him,
and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said,
Verily I say unto you,
Except ye be converted,
and become as little children,
ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself
as this little child,
the same is greatest
in the kingdom of heaven.
JESUS asked we become "as little children".
To be childlike; not childish.
To love GOD, with all our hearts.
To trust Him.
To delight in Him.
To obey Him.
Yes, even to fear Him.
Only a child could do that.
A child is always pure, and first base.
Either he likes you, or he doesn't.
Either he believes in something, or he doesn't.
Either he likes to do something, or he doesn't.
Kids are transparent.
Kids have good instincts.
Kids like simple things.
We don't believe in complexity.
Or making things difficult for others.
We like transparency.
We like being fair.
We love play.
We love fun.
We love kind people.
We like everyone to have a slice of cake, too.
We're happy, when we see others happy.
We don't like seeing anyone left out.
We're not busy hatching schemes and traps.
We like to be with people we can trust.
The true born again is not ashamed to be childlike.
It's the most fun thing in the world.
We're not financially savvy.
We're not pretentious.
We like simple math.
Addition?
Fine.
Multiplication?
Great.
Subtraction?
We become sad.
Division.
We panic.
Don't make us figure out sophisticated schemes.
We wonder the need for all that.
We know fun.
Adults have lost all fun.
They try too hard.
And fail.
We can sense real.
JESUS loves kids.
JESUS protects kids.
For all those wonderful reasons.
He warned us all:
Matthew 18:5-7
King James Version
5 And whoso shall receive
one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend
one of these little ones which believe in me,
it were better for him
that a millstone were hanged about his neck,
and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe unto the world because of offences!
for it must needs be that offences come;
but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
You can't hide a childlike heart.
Joy and play oozes out of you.
Age has nothing to do with authenticity.
Preserve that childlike heart of yours.
And change the world, through the WORD.
